The main reason being that due to circumstances away from Dodgeball I won't be able to guarantee my services financially or 'organisationally' beyond the end of May.
I really don't want the team and friendships to collapse so that's why I've given you plenty of notice to allow someone to take over the reins.
Please e-mail me if you are interested. It would be good to sort it out soon as it won't be long before the registration opens for next season. Traditionally there is an early bird discount for teams that pay in advance that helps keep costs down for everyone involved.
The best idea might be for 2 people to run the show. Each looking after each team and sharing in a nice way when one team is short of players.
I've loved every minute of running the teams and for as long as I'm in London I'll enthusiastically offer my services as a player a recruiter.
That doesn't mean my work is done just yet! There's a few opportunities for socials looming!

1. Team Meal at Vinoteca....
I'm not the only one moving on. In his continuing bid to become the Canadian Delia Smith John will shortly be leaving Vinoteca to further his rise to the top of London's restaurant scene.
Before he leaves John has suggested we have a team meal in the restaurant's private dining room.
John and his team will pull out all the stops. The room takes about 30 people and for food AND WINE he's estimated we could do it for £50 a head.
This is usually way above my budget....I'd have to be a pretty sure thing to be spending this kind of cash on a dare that's foe sure...but as a one off I'm all over this!
Initially this will be open to players old and new...with the invite being extended to Dodgeball WAGs and whatever the male equivalent is whenever we have an idea of numbers.

Date to be confirmed but we don't have too much time to play with. Shall we aim for an evening near the end of March?

2. Dodgeball Tournaments
There's 2 coming up
See below - I'm sure we can manage at least one team in each - also a good chance to get new players involved.
To celebrate the Leap Year this is our annual once a year tournament that we hold every 4 years! We have room for ten teams and this will be a sellout (all of our tourneys seem to be!) so please do get registered fast. Fancy dress is highly encouraged, and there is an open theme for this event.
Venue: Powerleague, Old Street
Sat 17 March: London, Canary Wharf: ST PADDY’S DAY TOURNEYLast year’s St Paddy’s tournament is etched into dodgeball history in this VIDEO FOOTAGE, and here is your chance to be involved this year! The dress theme is St Paddy’s (we are so inventive aren’t we!) and there will be Guinness-a-plenty flowing including a ‘downing a pint of Guinness’ competition. Not one to miss… |
3. Poker Night at Chez Barrett/Clark and Chandler
We're overdue an opportunity to give all our money to some Cambridge Maths. grads.
Can I propose a date of Saturday 25th February 2012.
We'll aim for 10 players and keep it low stakes and fast moving like last time.
2 x £5 tournaments and the a £5 cash game with one £5 re-buy.
Non-dodgeballers welcome.

4. Anyone want to be on a pilot for a game show?
Running a 'club' sometimes presents some weird and wonderful opportunities. I received an e-mail today inviting us to apply to be a team on a 'not to air' ITV game show pilot from a TV production company.
ITV....uurrrggghhh....I reckon we should hang out for the BBC! We're classier than that.
E-mail me if you want a shot at stardom.
